After 25 years in the film business as an actor, David began working behind the camera as a producer upon moving to Atlanta in 2019. Division marks the first release of Bigbee Films, Garver's production company named for his grandfather's Ford dealership in Western Kansas. Directed by Jason Winn and starring Jaime Andrews, Joshua Drew Payne, and Garver, Division tells the story of a a Z-list actress who connects with a fan with opposing political views in pre-election, pandemic-stricken 2020 America. It was an official selection of the 2022 Lady Filmmakers Festival in Beverly Hills where it won four awards including Best Ladies First Feature, the Blockbuster Award, Best Actress for Jaime Andrews and Best Supporting Actor for Garver. It is being distributed by Random Media and will be streaming 3/7/23.
Bigbee Films' second outing is Lloyd Pitts' Gravedigger , a wildly imaginative 30 minute horror/comedy /action/thriller in the vein of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead series with elements of Tim Burton and Ridley Scott style world-building and hard-hitting stunts. It made its world premiere at Kevin Smith's inaugural 2022 SModcastle Film Festival in Smith's hometown of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey where it took home the Best Horror Award.
